Ephesians 5:31-32
As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one.

Colossians 3:19 NIV.
Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.

1 Peter 3:7.
In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.

1 Corinthians 7:3
The husband should fulfill his wife’s sexual needs, and the wife should fulfill her husband’s needs.

Proverbs 5:15
Drink water from your own well— share your love only with your wife.

Proverbs 5:18-19
Let your wife be a fountain of blessing for you. Rejoice in the wife of your youth. She is a loving deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts satisfy you always. May you always be captivated by her love.

Hebrews 13:4
Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery.

What do u mean by "let her breasts satisfy you always"? :/ am I reading correctly? :/

Ya you are reading it correct, the whole chapter is written about adultery. The next verse says this,

Proverbs 5:20 NKJV
For why should you, my son, be enraptured by an immoral woman, And be embraced in the arms of a seductress?

- these are proverbs by King Solomon, son of David, King of Israel.
- from the Bible we know that his life is a lesson for everyone.

1 Kings 11:3-4 NIV
He had seven hundred wives of royal birth and three hundred concubines, and his wives led him astray. [4] As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father had been.

Now that's an interesting topic to debate.. How do we identify if a guy is good or bad
Start observing his character and his family and you can know the person by his friends. And check how he is treating his family, and about his job, his earning capacity, and his moral life. Is he loving and caring, respecting woman in general, then you could select a person, but still wait for your Yes.

pray to God before you take any major decision. Observe yourself whether you have peace and joy within you. And do you feel secure when you are with that person. Then you can say final YES.

Ohh my. Now i got it.
King solomon script's proverbs and condemning adultery - i.e., indulging with women other than one's wedded wife.

Now we are presented with another historic record that King Solomon had 700 royal wives and 300 more concubines.

Having so many wedded wives and extra concubines he wouldn't be needing any more women. Yet he warns men who are suppose to marry and live with only one Women, not to indulge with any other women.

Sounds logical.

Yes consequences of his sin mentioned in the Bible from 1 kings 11 onwards , 1-13 details this.

Is it just a story? Idk if its possible to have 700 wives. Maybe coz he had 700 wives they all led him astray. If he had just one, things wud have been different. 🤷Just saying.

It's not a story, he had so much of wealth and so many wives and concubines to take care, he used to accumulate 666 talents( 666*34 kg) of Gold every year. He resigned for 40 years like his father King David. I have calculated that wealth in today's context, it's 2.4 billion USD per year worth of Gold.

1 Kings 10:14-15 NIV
The weight of the gold that Solomon received yearly was 666 talents, [15] not including the revenues from merchants and traders and from all the Arabian kings and the governors of the territories.

The mistakes of King Solomon and God's reaction:
1 Kings 11:5-13 NIV
He followed Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites. [6] So Solomon did evil in the eyes of the LORD; he did not follow the LORD completely, as David his father had done. [7] On a hill east of Jerusalem, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the detestable god of Moab, and for Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites. [8] He did the same for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and offered sacrifices to their gods. [9] The LORD became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice. [10] Although he had forbidden Solomon to follow other gods, Solomon did not keep the LORD’s command. [11] So the LORD said to Solomon, “Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees, which I commanded you, I will most certainly tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your subordinates. [12] Nevertheless, for the sake of David your father, I will not do it during your lifetime. I will tear it out of the hand of your son. [13] Yet I will not tear the whole kingdom from him, but will give him one tribe for the sake of David my servant and for the sake of Jerusalem, which I have chosen.”

- After Solomon death Kingdom of Israel splitted as Two, Judea (two tribes) and Samaria (10 tribes) and till now they are not united together well, there is no peace in Israel. Though Jesus were living among them thousand years later, their eyes were not opened to realise the messiah they are expecting.

- Ashtoreth - female deity , molek - Cannanite deity require child sacrifice, chemosh - moabite God require child sacrifice

What started as an advise on chastity for men by a chaste king later turned into punishment by THE Lord on him, not for his adulterous deeds but for his obeisances to other gods aka competition to THE lord, that are supposed to be cheaper gods may be, made THE lord furious and become vengeful - a trait that should be emulated by the worshiping humans too.

Its interesting to note that the punishment of that vengeful Lord is not only for the doer - viz., King Solomon, but also his foreign wive's acts of worshiping the competitor gods. So much of anger that he's not even stable enough to weigh the appropriateness of who is to be punished for who's faults? While the Lord gets furious for the deeds of the foreign pagan wives of king Solomon, he did permit him marrying their pagan worshiping flesh - ka body. Yeah flesh is more valuable than the spirit the lord is correct.

Yet the Lord is compassionate enough to reduce the punishment of the person commit the sin - Nay he will be condoned considering the good deeds of his father David but alas, the clan of entire israel will have to bear the brunt. What!?!!??!! Who did the sin and who are getting punished. The wives of ling solomon and king solomon worshiped the competitor gods whereas the citizens of the country are punished. How compassionate the Lord is!?!! Glory to him:

And what about David upon whose good deeds the Lord is considerate on his descendants. Let's discuss in a separate post. Its getting digressed from chastity to idolatry that makes even the Lord so furious that he looses his balance and goes on punishing naive souls - citizens that didn't even do any sin themselves for the so called idolatry sin committed by the wife of the king following their custom.

Yeah we get terrified upon learning these history and so we should be obedient to that vengeful Lord. Yeah. See the consequences of idolatry let alone adultey. Who cares about adultey. How dare you worship the competitor. We get the message loud and clear. We should obey The Lord or else...

To understand this you should have broad understanding of the Bible from start to end. The people of Israel only asked to keep king for them. That time God asked them not to have a King for themselves as He himself was leading them but people of Israel not listened. And it's about the relationship of father and His children. A father won't be happy if the children is not turning back to him. We need to have broader picture to understand the God of the Bible. God himself send his begotten son to die for our sins. This much love is enough for us to follow him. There is no competition between gods here. There is only one God and many man made gods exist here on earth.

I'm posting here not to debate , I thought of helping some people who is struggling in relationship. I met many individuals in the chat they are facing much relationship issues. So just thought of sharing the knowledge I have known by reading the Bible. There is nothing else. There could be many Rithanya's hiding behind the screen. All should know to stand on their own to identify what is true love and marriage is. And those who are ready to kill themselves should know what will happen to them after death. This world is just a temporary place for us. We have an eternal life to inherit. The choice is on us.
