Community guidelines are essential to maintain a safe and respectful environment for people in our chat rooms. Below are the guidelines to follow while you are with us.
Respect and courtesy
- Treat every member with respect. Discrimination, bullying or hate speech against any individual or group based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability or any other defining characteristic will not be tolerated.
- Avoid strong or offensive language. Keep conversations civil and constructive.
Content restrictions
- No promotion or distribution of illegal content, including drugs, piracy or explicit material. No adult content or nudity is allowed here.
- Do not spam the rooms. That includes repeated messages, advertisements, self-promotion, YouTube links, audio messages, emoji floods and any other links posted to promote another site.
- Do not share or promote harmful misinformation or fake news.
- We do not allow people to share conspiracy material.
No trolling or harassment
- Do not intentionally provoke or antagonise other users.
- Harassment, stalking or any form of intimidation results in immediate action, including a ban and the removal of any points held on the account.
- Do not stalk or harass our badge holders. That includes harassing VIP or female badge holders in private messages.
Moderation and reporting
- Respect decisions made by moderators. They are there to keep the chat safe and respectful, and arguing with moderators or admins about their actions is itself a breach of the rules.
- Use the reporting mechanism to tell moderators about inappropriate behaviour or content, and do not misuse it for petty disputes. Clicking a user’s name gives you a block button for that user.
Age restrictions
- You must be 18 or older to chat in our rooms. This applies to every room, public and private, with no exceptions.
- Accounts we identify as belonging to someone under 18 are removed from the service.
Child safety comes before everything else here. Our Child Safety Standards explain what we prohibit, how to report a concern, and how we respond.
If someone breaks these guidelines
Report it in the chat, or write to [email protected] with the room name, the username and roughly when it happened. Child safety concerns go to [email protected] with “child safety” in the subject line, and are read before everything else.
